Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has won the Premier League Manager of the Month award for April.

Chelsea supporters are on a high after sealing the Premier League title last Friday with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, so it is no shock that they are looking down on their rivals.

As the countdown begins on leaving their famous White Hart Lane stadium, Pochettino said: "We are always thinking about how we can improve but after we finish the season it will be time to analyse, to make it better and try to change things and improve for next season".

But Pochettino has rejected the notion, suggesting that Chelsea's significant spending in the transfer market has been critical to their success.

But Pochettino hit back yesterday, saying: "I don't know if it's an advantage".

"I understand him. It's hard for him because he was always a manager who liked to work with and to develop young talent", the Spurs boss said. You could say Arsene Wenger has that advantage and should be winning the league every season.

"It was a fantastic month, six games we scored 16 goals and conceded only one, 18 points and it was fantastic to keep fighting for the Premier League, to put pressure on Chelsea and I think it was a fantastic month for the team".

He is the second Tottenham player to win it twice in a season, joining Harry Kane, who completed the feat in the 2014-15. Twenty years is a massive advantage. It's not a criticism [of Wenger].

"I think for the fans it means a lot but in the same way - and I don't want to be wrong - I think our fans are so excited to welcome the new stadium, too".
