Irving's 42, LeBron's 34 pushes Cavs past Celtics in Game 4

The Cavaliers would increase their lead to more than 30 points on multiple occasions in the third quarter and go on to cruise to the win. After they were presented the trophy, LeBron James said that the Cavs' first order of business would be to enjoy the moment and not take it for granted.

He capped his blistering 19-point outburst with a 3-pointer in the final second of the quarter and celebrated at mid-court by pretending to put two pistols back in his holster.

James finished the Celtics off by scoring 15 points in the final 12 minutes but it was Irving, who hit the biggest 3-pointer in franchise history last June, that pushed the Cavs within a win of a third straight conference title and trip to the NBA Finals.

A hip injury forced Thomas to miss Games 3, 4 and 5 of the conference finals, but the C's wouldn't have been anywhere near the Final Four without the play of the 5-foot-9 guard.

Since Boston were without Isaiah Thomas due to a hip injury, the Cavaliers should have been able to keep the mojo going and dispatch the Celtics easily.

And then handing the ball to Kyrie Irving, getting out of the way, and watching him take the team to the doorstep of the National Basketball Association Finals. He pulled down 17 rebounds to go along with his 17 points, 2 blocks and a steal. Stevens said Thomas may consult with two additional specialists.

"In the back of my mind, I was like, I'm saying to myself, "We can not - they can not tie up this series", he said. Cleveland is expecting another unflinching effort in Game 5 from a Celtics team that isn't backing down despite facing a 3-1 deficit in the series. When he gets going like that, he's tough to stop.

Avery Bradley scored 19 and Jae Crowder 18 for Boston. Add all this together, and it's no wonder the Cavs blew a 21-point lead to lose the game.

"I feel like we're humble enough to know we haven't played well at home", he said. LeBron was certainly not in the mood to talk after the game, and when a reporter tried to get to the bottom of LeBron's poor performance, King James shrugged.

Points Kyrie Irving scored in the third quarter, half of his career play-off high total of 42. If they know what's good for them, they'll finish this series in Boston for Game 5. J.R. Smith and his wife, Jewel, brought their daughter home after more than five months in the hospital following her premature birth.
