The Galicians were beaten 1-0 at home in the semi-final first leg, with Marcus Rashford's 67th minute free-kick separating the teams.

On May 24th Ajax will be facing Manchester United in Stockholm. "I have no words for it".

Ajax secured a place in their first European final for 21 years after surviving a scare against Lyon.

Ajax lost 3-1, but continues to play the Europa League final after a 4-1 win at home. Nine minutes later a awful clearance by Lyon keeper Anthony Lopes was headed by Traore to Kasper Dolberg, who went in all alone and scored to make it 2-0.

But Lyon top scorer Alexandre Lacazette netted twice inside a minute just before halftime to give Lyon hope.

Ajax substitute Donny van de Beek hit the woodwork in a frantic conclusion to the second-half - Ghezzal's header then deflecting in off the unfortunate Nick Viergever, who will miss the final after picking up a second yellow card late on. Maxwell Cornet's shot grazed the right post in the 88th as Lyon went agonizingly close to forcing extra time. Of course wins help to win so we want that.

"Now we are in the final we want to conclude the rest of the season well so we have to be focused".

"The players played a great match, we really rushed Ajax". United advanced 2-1 on aggregate.

Lyon could face further punishment from UEFA after falling to Ajax.

Onana's long kick out was poorly dealt with by Lyon's center backs and German midfielder Amin Younes fed a quick pass to Dolberg in lots of space down the left.

But for most of the first half Lacazette saw little of the ball and even less sight of Ajax's goal as the visitors' youthful side controlled the game.

Ghezzal's header deflected in wickedly off the unfortunate Viergever, who received his marching orders soon after for a late lunge on Rybus. "After that, Lyon were better", said captain Davy Klaassen on Dutch television after the match.

And Ajax coach Peter Bosz will be taking nothing for granted on the trip to France with memories of his side's quarter-final clash with Schalke still fresh in the mind. But the Amsterdam team stood their ground and Lyon did not manage to score the last needed goal. The French striker has 31 goals in 40 games in all competitions this season.
