Animaniacs TV Show Reboot in the Works

After almost two decades in captivity, the Warner Bros.

The show followed the adventures of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, the Warner siblings who lived inside the water tower on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank.

Are you glad to hear Animaniacs is coming back? Clearly this is part of The Brain's plan to take over the world, right? But there were many other popular characters like Animaniacs' Buttons and Mindy and Slappy the Squirrel, never mind the well-endowed nurse who always had Yakko and Wakko catcalling, "Hello Nurse!" While Animaniacs has been dormant since the 1999 direct-to-video movie Yakko's Wish, the property experienced an upsurge in popularity when the series arrived on Netflix past year; an occurrence that reportedly incited this reboot effort. Animation are now in the early stages of "kicking around a brand new version" of the show. At this point, the faboo project is still in the earliest stages of development, according to IndieWire, which means there's the potential for things to implode before they ever fully get off the ground. Spielberg is reportedly involved in the rebooting process. Indeed, if DuckTales can be rebooted, then Animaniacs is undoubtedly a ideal piece to be put through an increasingly complex contemporary lens.
